My father-in-law passed away late Christmas Eve due to complications from a surgery that he was recovering from. We are all devestated by his loss.
This was even more difficult because he and my mother-in-law had gone to a hospital in Texas that specialized in the procedure he had to have done. We live in California. None of us were with them when he passed away. My husband went with his brother to see him right after the surgery was done, but he was heavily sedated. I don't think he even knew they were there.
He fought for three weeks after the surgery, and even though there were complications we all thought that he was going to make it. Sam never gave up on anything. He fought to live through heart complications and severe illness for over twenty years of his life, this time was no exception. But in the end he lost the fight.
Sam was an extraordinary man. He was a loving husband and father. He adored his grandchildren, they were the light of his life. He loved and treated me like I was his daughter. Sam loved God, he passed that love on to his children, and their children. He was an amazing person, and all of our lives were better for having known Sam. He will be bitterly missed.
We love you Sam.
